Top 5 designs with stone

What do we think about when we mention stone? Where does it take us?

Or should I say when does it take us?

From Stonehenge to the Great Pyramids of Giza, stone has participated in humanity’s development before the beginning of written history. In fact, a whole Age is named after it. Whether it marks a burial mound or the summit of a mountain, it’s linked to the presence of humans in remote natural areas.

We’ve been shaping and stacking stones for multiple reasons, and we’ve never stopped.

By the way, stones have to be transported in order to build things with them, and because of their weight, those constructions are usually close to their source.

Their aesthetics are inevitably related to our ancestor’s environments and their interaction with them.

Today we selected five projects that brought this noble material into contemporary design in multiple ways and styles. Amongst them; an exquisite Valser Quarzite spa/bath that immerses visitors into the elements of the mountain, rougher structures that camouflage with the landscape and refined and polished stone interiors.
